Yampa River Festival
The Yampa River Festival, a cherished local tradition, is in full swing this weekend. Organized by Friends of the Yampa, the festival celebrates our beloved river with various water sports competitions and community gatherings. The main event takes place on Saturday, May 30, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Bud Werner Memorial Library. Activities include kayak races, a raft rodeo exhibition, and more. It’s a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the river and support local conservation efforts.
Pickleball Open House
For those interested in trying out or honing their skills in pickleball, the Steamboat Tennis and Pickleball Complex is hosting an Open House on Saturday, May 30, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. The event offers free pickleball and tennis court time, organized games with pros, and complimentary food and beverages. It’s a perfect family-friendly event, rain or shine.
Yoga on the Mountain
Starting Sunday, June 7, Out Here Yoga will offer weekly donation-based power flow vinyasa yoga classes on Mount Werner, outside Thunderhead Lodge. These sessions are designed to elevate your practice amidst the stunning mountain backdrop. Classes will be held every Sunday throughout the summer season, weather permitting. Remember to bring your mat and any essentials for practicing outdoors.
Strings Music Festival
Mark your calendars for the Strings Music Festival, running from June 27 to August 18. This annual event features over a hundred artists performing a wide variety of classical and contemporary shows, along with youth and family productions. Concerts are held at the Strings Music Pavilion, located just off Mt. Werner Road. Ticket prices vary based on the event, so be sure to check the official website for details.
